My name is Javetta Jones-Roberson and I’m the new Dean of Instruction here at Haltom. I’m so excited to be a part of such an amazing staff and fantastic students! This will be my first year as a Haltom Buff. Here, we embrace our vision “Haltom has Heart”, where children are at the heart of our school and our main priority.
I’m very excited about the great things we will do this year with instruction and advancement of our students! Just a little about me- I received my Bachelor’s degree from Texas Woman’s University with a focus in Education, Family Studies and Reading. My Master’s degree in Education Administration and Leadership is from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Previously, I served as a high school Advanced Academics Coordinator, Gifted Campus Coordinator/Liaison, Professional development facilitator for Advanced Academics and Gifted teacher. I’m very involved in the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented, NAGC, Council for Exceptional Children-TAG Division, the College board and Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development.
Currently, I’m doctoral student in the Educational Leadership program at Texas A&M University Commerce, where my research focus is Gifted underrepresented populations. I look forward to an exciting year of learning, growing and having fun!
